What this extension is

Powerpack for NotebookLM is a browser extension that adds convenience features for importing content into Google NotebookLM. It exists to reduce friction in a specific workflow, not to replace or enhance NotebookLM itself.

Think of it as a utility — a small tool that does one thing and stays out of the way when you don't need it.

What this extension is not

  • Not a platform: There are no accounts, no cloud sync, no social features.
  • Not a learning system: The extension does not teach you anything or track your progress. NotebookLM is the tool where learning happens.
  • Not an AI product: The extension does not use AI. NotebookLM (a Google product) does.
  • Not official: This project is not affiliated with Google.

Design principles

  • Do less: Add only features that have clear, demonstrable value. Avoid scope creep.
  • Stay out of the way: The extension should not interrupt your workflow or create new habits to learn.
  • Be transparent: Users should know exactly what the extension does and does not do.

Why this exists

NotebookLM is a useful tool for organizing and understanding information. But the process of adding sources — copying URLs, switching tabs, clicking buttons — can feel repetitive when you have many items to add.

This extension was built to solve that specific problem. If you don't experience that friction, you probably don't need this extension.
